Privacy Policy
Michinoba Co., Ltd. (株式会社ミチノバ, "we," "us," or "our") operates the service "InteriorCapsule." This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We aim to be plain and honest: the room images you see are AI-generated, and the products we link are real items that resemble them.
1. Categories of personal information we collect
- Room photos you upload, and the redesigned images we generate from them.
- Email address, if you create an account or contact us.
- Authentication identifiers (for example, a sign-in provider's user ID and a handle name you choose) when you sign in.
- Payment information handled by Stripe. Payments are processed by Stripe; we receive transaction status and the amount, but we never see or store your full card number.
- Usage events (pages viewed, features used, affiliate-link clicks) to run and improve the service.
- Device and log information (IP address, browser and operating system, referring page) collected automatically when you use the service.
- A device identifier (a random ID stored in your browser's localStorage) used to keep your session and free-trial count without requiring sign-up.
2. How we use your information
- To generate the redesigned room images and to show similar real products.
- To operate accounts, process payments, and provide customer support.
- To prevent abuse and fraud, and to measure and improve service quality.
Your room photos are used only to generate the redesign and to improve quality. We do not sell your photos.
3. Categories of third parties we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with the following categories of service providers so the service can function:
- Payment processor — Stripe, Inc., to process payments and prevent fraud. Card details go directly to Stripe and do not pass through our servers.
- Cloud and GPU inference providers — providers that host image generation and image analysis (for example, fal.ai, Inc. and Modal Labs, Inc.), used only to generate the redesign, detect furniture, and match products. Our image-analysis provider does not retain the images after processing.
- Email delivery — an email provider that sends account, receipt, and (if you opt in) engagement emails.
- Analytics — Google Analytics, run in measurement-only mode (no advertising audiences), to understand aggregate usage.
- CDN and security — Cloudflare, to deliver the site quickly and protect against abuse.
- Sign-in providers — the identity provider you choose to sign in with (for example, Google), which confirms your identity to us.
4. We do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted advertising that follows you across sites). If you would like to make an opt-out request under a state privacy law such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, email us at support@interiorcapsule.com and we will honor it in good faith.
5. How to review, change, or delete your information
If you have an account, you can review and update your profile in the app, and you can delete your account from your account page ("退会 / Delete account"), which anonymizes your account and lets you unpublish any rooms you shared. You may also email support@interiorcapsule.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, including room photos. We will verify your request and respond as required by law.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. Room photos and generated images are retained to let you return to your results and to improve quality; you can request deletion at any time by email or by deleting your account. Aggregated or de-identified data that can no longer identify you may be kept for analytics.
7. Cookies, localStorage, and analytics
We use cookies and browser localStorage to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and count free-trial generations. Google Analytics, when enabled, sets its own cookies to measure aggregate usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
8. Children's privacy
InteriorCapsule is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, email support@interiorcapsule.com and we will delete it.
9. International data transfers
We are based in Japan, and our providers operate in Japan and the United States. If you use the service from another country, your information (including room photos) may be processed in Japan and in U.S. cloud regions. We take reasonable steps to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or applicable law changes. When we do, we will update this page and the effective date below. For material changes, we will also provide notice by email where we have your address, or by a prominent notice in the app.
